The new set of Board of Trustees of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers for 2017-2019 was sworn into office last January 6, 2018 at the Golden Peak Hotel, Cebu City. This Induction and Oathtaking was graced and led by Cong. Jesulito Manalo of ANGKLA Partylist. The officers pledged to exercise the duties and responsibilities entrusted to them by the Society and further pledged to help in the promotion of the welfare of our Society in the spirit of cooperation to support the development of our country’s maritime industry.

SONAME new President, ENGR. JEROME M. MANUEL gave his Presidential Message during the ceremony.
Engr. Manuel focused on his speech about his plan for the standardization of stability and loadline calculations in coordination with MARINA and accredited entities focusing on compliance to IMO requirements; Naval Architect professionals be in naval architecture jobs in the government agencies and shipyards and shiprepairer; Technical discussions and for a re NAME TECHNICAL CODE and on actively supporting ANGKLA Partylist in its legislative agendas for maritime industry policies focusing on shipbuilding and shiprepair and maritiem safety.
On behalf of the SONAME Board, Engr. Manuel extended sincere appreciation to all our Members and of course to ANGLKA for supporting all the advocacies of our Association and assured that present set of officers is committed to continue the good legacy started by the past administrations.
